there is a sword. a cursed sword. it has been around for as long as the earth has known life, or perhaps it only pushed its way out into existence the first time you picked it up. either way, the sword will kill you. and then it will wait, for the next person to arrive. forever

SWORD POEM RPG is a gm-less one-page rpg about a very cursed sword and the people who pick it up. You play as the cursed sword, experiencing the lives of the people you ruin from the moment they pick you up to the moment they self-destruct. This is a game for one to seven people.

Sword Poem is a one page RPG that has it's players create a terrible destructive weapon. You start by creating a wielder, describing how they found the Sword, and defining a number of principles they must follow.

Each round you roll 1d6 and eliminate that many of the principles and narrate how the Sword causes them to break or change them. You then add 1 new principle before starting over. The wielder dies when their last principle is removed.

The game doesn't have a set number of principles, but recommends 10, or a set number of wielders, so you can choose how many and how long you want the game to be.

I told the story of a dagger that was forged to kill a god but found it's way into other people's lives. I made 3 wielders each with 5 principles. You can read my game HERE

what a fun yet sad game! I played this on my own, creating a knight with principles that were cut down one by one with the sword. Knowing everything he went through and the sword brought upon him, I am sure the sword will live on in memory just as he will! I enjoyed playing this game and crossing items off a list (and trying to save principles I wanted him to keep!), I can see this getting fun when you have a full table trying to bring the wielder down!
